Jacob Peters was the official photographer for the RC2013 meeting, and has contributed photographs to the OHTN from his extensive collection of important places and faces. First published in NOW Magazine and the Deutsche AIDS Hilfe in Berlin following the V International AIDS Conference in Montreal, his late cousin, Dr. Andrew Zysman, encouraged Jake to pursue and to document the unfolding tragedy of the AIDS epidemic.
Jake has presented exhibits of theatre, portraits and AIDS activism including, "HIV Phobia" and "The Question Was: Could I Find A Way To Live With AIDS?" He has shown at galleries and health conferences in Canada, Bangkok and New York. He contributes images and writing to AIDS service organizations and exhibits on walls and in print media. Jake's archive on the history of AIDS spans 23 years, a commitment of all his energy to this subject following his recovery from near fatal bouts with AIDS in the mid 1990s.
The OHTN Annual Research Conference provides an opportunity for knowledge translation and exchange between the stakeholders in our network: people with HIV, community-based agencies, health care providers, policy makers, educators and researchers.
